Eonware releases server based webcasting system
Webocaster
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, San Jose, CA, Dec 11, 2002 The
Webocaster production system is server based and can be run on any
networked Windows machine using IE. The result is a flexible,
economical and scalable webcasting solution.
Until recently, to be able to produce rich media webcasting,
you had to buy and install webcasting software on a specific
computer. Consequently, software licensing cost becomes significant
when you have many producers. With the release of Webocaster
Enterprise Edition 2.5 from Eonware Software the scenario changes.
The Webocaster application is server based and can be run on
any networked Windows machine using IE. Whereas competing software
requires you to buy individual licenses for every producers,
Webocaster offers unlimited administration access and it also allows
for remote access. The result is a better, more economical and
scalable webcasting solution.
“The ability to run the
software with a simple browser, has opened up new and exciting ways
for us to sell the Webocaster platform.”, says Richard Zembron,
System Architect at Eonware Software. Since all functionality is
accessible over the web, the system becomes suitable for Application
Service Providers, ISPs and CDNs who wishes to offer the software as
a service to their customers.
“Using Webocaster as a service
rather than buying a whole system is often the best solution for
companies that use webcasting occasionally and want high quality
services when they do.” Equipment requirements are minimal; a
notebook with video input and a simple camera is sufficient to
broadcast a fully customized webcast with powerpoint and advanced
viewer interactivity.
Some of the features of Webocaster
include: > Large library of professionally designed
layouts. > Security features, multiple user names and
passwords > Advanced viewer interaction features (Video/slide
control, Voting, polling, chat, email) > Rich media support
(Powerpoint, Excel, Flash, HTML, GIF, JPG, text, database
queries)
The system allows you to do live and on demand
webcasting in Windows Media, Real Media and Quicktime, and is
available for Linux and Windows platforms.
